Brutus Beefcake on Legends Radio

On Sunday, September 28, Massachusetts resident Brutus Beefcake did a phone interview with Evan Ginzburg and Dr. Mike Lano. Brutus talked about the legends that trained him, among them Hulk Hogan. He said that he has wrestled in four decades, he has no plans of retiring, and hopes to continue wrestling into the next decade. He thinks that wrestling is experiencing a down time as opposed to the mid-’80s when Hollywood and pro football players all wanted to be involved. He thinks it has to do with the current, adult-oriented WWE product where women are taking off their clothes on TV. Speaking of TV, he’s excited about the up-coming County Music Television show, Hulk Hugan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling, where he is one of the trainers. He thinks that show might get people excited about wrestling again. He knows that CMT is fully supportive of wrestling, by the amount of money they put into Celebrity Championship Wrestling. Brutus urged the listeners to check out Hulk Hogan’s official web site where there are some videos of the show. The show premiers Saturday, October 18 at 8 PM. He couldn’t say too much about it, but he lead us to believe that there’s a good chance something more might come out of this CMT/wrestling relationship. Brutus also spoke about his long-standing friendship with Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart, and Brian Knobbs.
Here is Brutus Beefcake’s Myspace page. And finally, here is a link to the full interview. Evan Ginzburg’s Legends Radio is a fantastic show where the hosts not only interview older wrestlers, but they are very supportive of the independent scene and groups like Ring of Honor, and they interview young, current wrestlers as well. Check it out.
In other news, the Events Calendar was updated with two Showcase Pro Wrestling shows in December.
